The M.Ed. (Master of Education) course was started in V.S.S.D. college in 1993 (session 1993-1994). At that time temporary recognition was given by U.G.C. in grant in aid. First Head of the Department was Dr. J.N. Awasthi (1993-2021). When the N.C.T.E. established in year 1996 the course run through this body. From 1998 M.Ed. course was approved by N.C.T.E. Later in 2001 N.C.T.E. Later in 2001 (session 2001-02) according to Government order the N.C.T.E. gave a permanent recognition to this course in Self Finance Scheme. From State Government of U.P. 2001 regular Based course converted into Self Finance Scheme. At that time the HOD of M.Ed. was Dr. Manorama Khanna. From July 1993 to June 2009 there were 25 seats in M.Ed. Department and teachers’ students ratio was one teacher per 5 students. In July 2009 (session 2009-10), seeing the infrastructure of college the number of seats in this course were increased from 25 to 35 by N.C.T.E. At that time teacher and student’s ratio was one per 7 students. From 2015 M.Ed. course converted into 2 year programme and number of seats raised from 35 to (50+50) 100. Teacher student’s ratio was changed then 1 per 10 students. For the 2 year programme number of teachers were five till one year programme (2014). From 2015 Number of teachers increased was 10, only. Those candidates are allowed to this course who passed B.Ed, D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed. Exams and appeared in M.Ed. Entrance Exams.
