VSSD College Kanpur affiliated to CSJM University Kanpur has an active National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit, specifically the Infantry Unit of Army since 1968. The NCC aims to instill character, discipline and ideals of selfless service in young individuals, along with other qualities like comradeship, leadership and a spirit of adventure.

The motto of NCC is “Unity & Discipline”. VSSD College’s NCC unit is known for its sincere and dedicated approach to explore max capabilities of the cadets.

Total strength of the cadets in college unit is 50, in which 33% of seats are reserved for girls cadet. Under graduation the NCC certificate course is of three years. After completion of first two years, cadets participate for ‘B’ certificate exam and after completion of third year cadet undergo ‘C’ certificate exam.

To every new academic session, the enrollment process has been conducted for the selection of first year cadets to fulfill the vacancies created after passing out of third year cadets.
