B.Ed. Department

The B.Ed. Department was established in July 1973 under V.S.S.D. College Kanpur.The founder head of the B.Ed. Department was Shri Sohan Lal Seth. His tenure was from 1983 to 1990. After this, Dr. Jayanarayan Awasthi taught in the department from 1974 to 2000. Dr. Amar Singh Kushwaha taught in the B.Ed. Department from 1974 to 2007. Shri Ranjit Singh worked in the department from 1974 to 1996. He taught in Nigeria for a few years. Dr. T.P. Mishra, Dr. Sushma Srivastava and Dr. Gajab Singh of the department served for a long time as learned professors. Dr. Rashmi Rekha Pandey became Principal of Girls Degree College Hathras and retired from there. Dr. Mridula Bhadoria used to teach here, her tenure was from 1977 to 1991. Later she got appointed in C.S.J.M. University Campus. She retired from the post of Professor from there. Dr. D.K. Awasthi was Professor from 1977 to 2000. Thereafter Dr. Sangeeta Tiwari, Dr. Vivek Pandey, Dr. A.K. Sheel, Dr. P.K. Pandey also taught in B.Ed. Department. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Pandey got appointed in Rajarshi Tandon University, Allahabad. There he is working as Director of Academic Branch. Dr. D.S. Sindhu was also working in this department, but he was transferred to a college of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. Dr. K.N. Gupta is the former Head of Department and is retiring in June, 2023. At present Prof. Abha Sharma is Head of Department and there are 5 faculty members, Prof. Manish Kumar Dubey, Dr. Sangeeta Tiwari, Dr. Akash Verma, Dr. Vikash Singh, Mr. Deepak Kumar Katiyar are currently teaching in this department. The experienced faculty members of the department are actively involved in teaching and various research activities. The progress of the department is increasing day by day. The writing and teaching work is going on smoothly by the concerned professors. At present, B.Ed. is of two years. It is based on the semester system.
