The SC/ST Committee at VSSD College, Kanpur, is established as per UGC guidelines (1998 and subsequent regulations) to safeguard the interests of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students and staff. It monitors implementation of reservation policies in admissions, appointments, and promotions.

The committee addresses grievances related to discrimination, provides guidance on scholarships, and ensures integration into mainstream campus life. It collects data on compliance with government quotas and organizes awareness programs on rights and welfare schemes.

By resolving issues promptly, it promotes equality and a non-discriminatory environment. The committee plays a crucial role in upholding constitutional provisions for social justice in higher education.
