The Electoral Literacy Club at VSSD College, Kanpur, is constituted in accordance with the Election Commission of India (ECI) and UGC directives to integrate voter education into the higher education system. It aims to sensitize students about their electoral rights, the importance of voting, and democratic processes through engaging activities.

The club conducts mock polls, voter awareness campaigns, pledge drives, and demonstrations of EVMs and VVPATs. It encourages enrollment of eligible students in voter lists and promotes ethical voting practices like “Every Vote Counts.” Run by student representatives, it organizes debates, quizzes, and workshops to build informed future voters.

This initiative strengthens democratic participation and aligns with national efforts for greater electoral engagement among youth.
