The Department of Law (B.A. LL.B.), V.S.S.D. College, Kanpur celebrated “Read Fest” — a Reading and Writing Competition organised in association with ELT@I (English Language Teachers Association of India) under the guidance of Dr. N.M. Nigam, on 9th September 2026. 📖✍️

The event was held under the inspiring theme "Your Book in Your Writing" and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all five years of the B.A. LL.B. programme. What made this event truly special was its spirit — students arrived carrying books closest to their hearts. The collection was as diverse and vibrant as the participants themselves, ranging from Atomic Habits and A Thousand Splendid Suns to The Discovery of India, works of Kafka, and several other literary gems across genres. Each participant chose their favourite passage, presented it in their finest handwriting, and read it aloud — turning the law department into a beautiful celebration of language, literature, and expression. 🌟 The event was adjudicated by Dr. Vinod Kumar Verma and Dr. Fatima Aashna, whose presence and evaluation added great academic credibility to the occasion. 🏆 Winners of the Reading and Writing Competition 🥇 1st Prize — Kunal Kr.
