Rovers (young men) and Rangers (young women) form the senior branch (ages ~17–25) of the Bharat Scouts & Guides, India’s national Scouting organization founded on the principles laid down by Lord Baden‑Powell in 1907. As a voluntary, non‑political youth movement, it aims to foster well‑rounded individuals through a blend of character training, community service, leadership, and outdoor adventure .
Objectives
1. Holistic Personal Growth
• Develop physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual maturity .
2. Civic & Social Responsibility
• Inspire ethical conduct, national integration, and meaningful service in the community .
3. Leadership & Teamwork
• Train members to plan, lead, and collaborate on projects and events .

• Learn through “learning by doing” — camping, first aid, trekking, environmental action .
